I was gifted a visit to this oasis in Cary. From the moment you walk in the pleasant staff is welcoming. The ambiance is incredible, and the kindness rolls over into every staff member you meet. My treatment was a facial and it was hands down the best facial I have ever experienced.

After going to locations like Elements and Hand and Stone, the provider spoke enough but not too much! She answered questions, told me what products I ACTUALLY needed and what could be one that I put on my wish list.

I joined as a member and cannot wait to return! Want to check it out? Please do! You can even use my link: https://hirefrederick.com/spa-retreat-cary/referrals#:~:text=https%3A//mbo.io/RPWZIQ

Well... Visiting Spa Retreat has been on my list for a while. I intended to utilize a gift card as this location was the only one of interest in the network of spas I was willing to try.
I left my gift card at home, so that worked out well. Lol

I initially booked online for a specific time, but the Spa unexpectedly moved me up to an earlier time which was an inconvenience, but that was a planned spa day for myself that I kept.
The Spa Retreat is located in a large building with other businesses. Not my typical scene for a Spa day. The staff seemed pleasant and informative by giving me a tour and explaining the amenities. Spa Retreat is nice and clean inside. In addition to water, they offer customers wine and teas

The massage therapist I used was OK.
I found it difficult to find a comfortable pressure as I prefer medium, and I felt deep tissue and asked for adjustments, but it didn't work to my exact pressure. It became extremely light pressure. It seemed that the massage therapist was only good at accommodating either deep or very light. I'm an energy person, so to avoid upsetting my peace at that moment, I just accepted the light pressure.
The overall experience was a 4
The massage itself is a 3. There isn't much to write home about when it comes to the massage, but there is potential for a quality experience had the massage been better. The price point did not align with the massage I received.

Spa Retreat Cary is conveniently located. I find it easy to call to arrange and book services. My most recent services were for Revive pedicure. Apparently, only 1 nail technician and had to wait until the following week to get in as I understand with warmer weather people were getting their feet and toes ready.

Although the day of my appointment that was scheduled later in the day, I received an email notification first thing in the morning that the appointment was canceled! I was shocked as I really wanted to try and treat myself to some spa pampering. There were a few messages on the answering machine apologizing and to call back as the nail technician had a family emergency. I understand emergencies but was quite surprised that there is only 1 nail technician and not sure how up to date the information is on their website. Regardless, I was either going to try to get an appointment at an alternative place versus any nail spa as all would be busy between warmer weather, graduation, and mother's day weekend.

I had a few messages from Darius and was awaiting a call back for an appointment the next day if technician was back in town. I called back and spoke with Kirsten to reiterate what information I received and availability for the technician as well as my schedule. The nail technician was going to be out another day and I understand. I gave some alternative days and times as I was concerned about coming during peak times on the weekend of Mother's Day in anticipation of being busy plus trying to reschedule two days for the sole nail technician.

Kirsten called me back and got me in for the pedicure service and assured me that ALL staff wears masks and optional for guests. On the day of my service, I arrived early and may have been the only guest wearing a mask either based on personal decision or service booked. Mia took me to a chose a sitting room for relaxation prior to pedicure service. It would have been relaxing but two ladies were conversing about work, selling their business, and firing people.

I was ushered for my pedicure service by an unmasked employee and brought into a separate room. It appeared to be the nail room. Not the typical recliner chair with an option for a massage, but the copper/bronze basin was an unusual surprise not bubbling but seemed heated. The person did not introduce themselves and I asked her name and she said "Tabby".

The pedicure was different from typical nail salons and I was really looking forward to the mud and callus treatment so remained cautiously optimistic. The massage was very gentle and since first time I was on edge with the pedicure service as I prepped feet after the first cancellation of services. Tabby had a color polish in Essie so we were set. Tabby had unusual way of cutting large toenails, shaping/filling nails or lack of and did not ask my opinion surprisingly. Then she polished which had many flaws, not good sadly. I asked when is the mud and she said she didn't have time for that service. This was the rejuvenate pedicure. Pedicure service 3 stars.

*Note: I wore my facial mask the entire time. Tabby did not wear a mask whatsoever and was very surprised based on spa notice that ALL staff wears masks and the fact due to her family emergency visiting a hospital.

I went to check out and I didn't catch the gal's name with the beautiful red hair. She asked me about the service and I mentioned my disappointment not receiving the requested appointment and she promptly discounted the service and apologized. While there, I asked what is hydrotherapy? Mia explained the service and offered to show me the room as I have tried float spas. I inquired if there was any availability while I was there even though I just had pedicure but not the full service originally scheduled. Mia and the other gal arranged for me with some drying/relaxing time before using hydrotherapy. 5 stars for outstanding customer service!

The spa itself 5 stars for ambience, cleanliness, courteous customer service, flexibility to schedule services, and location.

I plan to schedule an upcoming visit for a massage followed by hydrotherapy not sure if I would get pedicure as the shaping and polish were really messy for a professional. Picture taken at vehicle leaving the spa.

Less than professional polish obvious errors, very disappointed

Always excellent service. Love the lounges. We go big and get the 90 min retreat massage. It's worth it. We also book 3 months in advance to get preferred tech on days we can take off. Their retreat offerings are not posted online so I finally took a photo to share.

Best Deep Tissue massage of my life. Ask for Will and get ready to do. some. work! Will was incredibly professional and an absolute expert in his field. I've given birth to beautiful babies, but my body has never quite recovered -- after this massage I'm feeling so much more like my old self, my back pain is gone! I can't believe it. This is a must mamas, a must.

Staff is very nice, facility is beautiful and relaxing, and there is plenty of parking. Also, call me old-school, but I like that these lockers have a key and not a code -- I don't want to remember one more thing, ya know? All in all, great Spa. I'll be back.

      Vibe 10/10
Massage 11/10 (fell asleep 3 times)
      Waiting area mimosa 10/10

When I pulled into the parking lot, I was curious if there could really be a legitimate "spa" in a non-descript office building that also houses a dentist.

Oh but don't be dismayed my friends, once inside, you are transported into a quiet, tranquil space.

Michael was awesome. We had a nice getting started chat and then all of a sudden I could hear someone gently snoring... It was me, I'm the problem. Seriously though, it takes me awhile to relax. Michael worked his magic and I was out x 3.

Great experience. I can't wait for my next "nap".

Finally got to use my spa package (facial, manicure, pedicure, and massage with hot stones) that I got for Christmas and I was super excited just to get some me time. They had already emailed me my itinerary so I had a good idea what to expect.

To my delight, I arrived and every was extremely pleasant.

Started day with a facial. This was my first ever facial. I've always been afraid because I have super sensitive skin. I closed me eyes to ready myself and it sounded like I was relaxing on a beach in Bora Bora with waves crashing against the ocean. My esthetician was heavenly. With her gentle touch, she walked me through everything that she was doing and even recommended products for my super sensitive, overly dry skin. I was in total bliss and of course forgot everything she recommended by the end of the day. Being so wonderful though, she offered to pull some product recommendations and write down the process step by step and leave it at the front desk for when I checked.

Next up was the mani and pedi. My nail technician and I bonded on a whole other level. We shared stories, advice, laughs. I'm sure we're friends now. She was super pleasant and an awesome conversationalist.

I had a 20 minute break in the waiting room because I was ahead of schedule where I enjoyed trail mix and mimosas. And then I was off to have my massage.

The massage was typical of what I've received in places like Massage Envy, but I must admit the hot stones felt fantastic.

I have to warn you to be careful because they have some very appealing add ons (chamomile mask, aromatherapy, hot stones, cupping, gel polish, etc) that you may want to take advantage of especially when asked while you're already in lala land, but they all come with an added cost. I did take advantage of the chamomile mask (there was coupon when I checked in on Yelp), hot stones, and gel polish. I was given the aroma therapy added complementary because the massage therapist had to step out during my service.

When I filled out my info sheet upon arrival, I added that I wanted to get membership information and had fully planned on starting a membership. However, when I was checking out it felt like the receptionist was too preoccupied with adding up all of my add on services to even go over any of the information. The biggest bummer of the day was the products and instructions promised to be left at the front desk by my esthetician were not there. That was extremely disappointing because I wanted to keep up with the routine in between my visits back to see her.

All in all I would still say the highlight of my day was the facial.

Honestly, I probably won't return here though. But I invite all of you to give it a try yourself. The small mishaps that were missed with me could all have just been an oversight.

What a great day spa! This looks like a regular office building until you walk in! There are two quaint sitting areas one has tea you can make and they have lemon water. There is a sauna you can sign up for 15 minute time slots, it's not large but big enough.
I had a deep tissue massage which was probably the best massage I have ever gotten! The room was extremely relaxing and the massage table was warmed which was a nice surprise when I laid down! The therapist applied the perfect amount of pressure and paid attention to the area I asked while still getting everywhere else in the allotted time.
      Prices were reasonable!

Vaccine perk: if you show your vaccine card you can choose from a selection of add ones to your device so I was able to get some hot stones which was a great addition!!

      Highly recommend!

Rude managers. I saw them treat the staff terribly. I would not spend my money here again. Front end staff were charming but the management at this place leaves something to be desired. I was appalled. I overheard a conversation with the manager.... If that was my daughter being talked to like dirtI would tell her to quit!
