Dr. Luo is a particularly talented dentist. She works quickly and works well. If you are fortunate enough to be one of her patients, you will find out exactly what I'm talking about. As a patient, I am most pleased with everything she has done for me.

I am very hard on my teeth with night time grinding necessitating several crowns, 2 root canals and an implant over that past 5 years. My visits to Dr. Howard and staff have been consistently pleasant through all of that. Dr. Howard's intellect is probably only surpassed by his compassion. I don't know that I've ever had a health care provider who truly has performed at this level over time. Dr. Howard addresses his staff in a professional way, teaching as he works through procedures. His calm, measured and positive demeanor is extremely reassuring. And I believe he creates the music in the background which I find a calming influence.
I would recommend Dr. Howard and the Lane staff to anyone who would want the consummate dental professional operating at the highest levels.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sabrina W.Cary, NC04Oct 18, 2017
I have been going to Lane & Associates, Cary-Renaissance Park for over a year, and had a dental cleaning service on 12/29/16. I received a billing statement EIGHT MONTHS LATER on 8/19/17. When I contacted my insurance company about this bill, they told me that they did not receive the claim. I stopped by the dental office and asked why they did not file it. The manager, Tracy looked at the computer and said that my insurance was terminated. However, I had already updated my new plan with them prior to the cleaning. So, I figured they submitted the bill to the wrong company. She filed it again to my current insurance and said, "You're good."
A few weeks later, my insurance company sent me a statement indicating that they cannot accept the claim because it has passed the time limit. I visited the office again and informed them of this and tried to understand why I still need to pay for this dental cleaning out of my own pocket. Tracy said that they did not file the claim in time because I did not bring in the proper insurance information when I went in.
It certainly did not make sense that I went to the dentist without bringing in my current, valid insurance card. Normally, the front desk staff always confirms your current insurance. Did the front desk staff do their job? Obviously, they failed to update or verify my dental plan, and now they put the blame on the patient. Additionally, why did they send me a billing statement after 8 months if they found this claim was not picked up by my insurance? Tracy has never admitted their dental office made a clerical error. She said it was completely my responsibility.
I felt very ridiculous to argue about a $126 bill that was mishandled and sent to me 8 months late. As I decided to pay the bill over the phone and ended this nonsense, Tracy hung up on me. I called back, and she said she can't take my payment over the phone and that I should pay online. I am extremely disappointed with her service and attitude and will certainly not visit that location again.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - E H.Raleigh, NC0383Jun 18, 2019
Dr Jing Luo is great. Very patient and takes the time to really explain what's going on and the best options. She gave us a much more review of our daughter's teeth and thoroughly explained what would be best for her permanent teeth.
She even spoke in great lengths with our daughter to ease her fears about having work done. Would highly recommend her.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rickey H.Raleigh, NC3643Oct 10, 2018
I went there for tooth removal. Two sessions, three teeth. Dentist was great, but the office was lacking. They sent me a 2nd invoice with a additional $175 charge. Of course their billing was not compatible with my FSA and so had to pay out of pocket online until I got this resolved. I never got the receipt from Lane Associates. This was a complete nightmare. What made it worse is that I was short $12 dollars and they brought this balance to collection. As mentioned the dentist and his assistance were good, but the billing and professionalism is extremely lacking. Let me make this clear these people want your money and they try creative ways in taking it away from you while not giving you what you need.

The office staff and hygienists have always been nice, friendly and professional, which is perfect if you're just getting a cleaning. My rating applies to the dentist(s) rather than hygienists or office staff (they get 5 stars).
I can't speak for all Lane offices, but there is no "Dr. Lane" at this particular office (Cary - Renaissance Park @ Weston Pkwy and Harrison). In the past several years, I've been seen by at least 4 different dentists there. When I arrive, they tell me that the previous dentist left. They don't notify the patients proactively. (Perhaps it might raise a flag.) It's like a revolving door.
Whenever I need real work done, I go elsewhere. There are a number of excellent dentists in Cary who stay in business year after year, have experience, and a strong track record. Some Lane dentists are new to the area, new to the practice, or not very experienced newbies. Some are probably good...it's just that all the random changes without notifying me make me nervous.
The lobby is nice, but the little partitioned rooms feel cold and clinical. You just stare at the ceiling and fluorescent lights. Not exactly state-of-the-art, nor calming.
A weird tidbit: the placard outside their office advertises "New: same day crowns!" If you ask the dentist du jour about them, depending on the dentist, they'll say they're not as good as the ones that take 2 weeks. So what's the point? If you're paying $1K+, why not get the best dentist possible at an office that creates quality crowns on the spot?
At another Lane office in N. Raleigh, Dr. K (dental surgeon) is FANTASTIC. Perhaps the mysterious Dr. Lane will realize that the individual dentist matters more than a rotating line of "associates."Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - KT S.La Crosse, WI59427Aug 24, 2017
Bad service. Waited an hour past my appointment time and they looked at me crazy when I asked why it was taking so long.

11 cavities?? I have always gone to the dentist 2x a year and every time I am told, how I dont have any cavities and other dentist are proud of how I take good care of my teeth. I switched to Dr. Lane in Cary for location convenience and suddenly I have 11 cavities. they question me about my sugar intake, sodas, food and living style. I repeatedly told them I DON'T eat sugars, NO sodas and I floss every day. Then he said is all the wine I have been drinking. I then told him that i havent drank any alcohol for 2 years since I was doing fertility and had a baby. I went back to my old dentist for a second opinion. Sure enough, no cavities. Not going back there again. they made me feel like i was a lier and they lied about my teeth.

Ok. My family has been going to this practice for probably 10+ years. My first issue is having a "deep cavity" filled that caused me more issues after filling than before. So I went back and got it redone with them telling me they would as a "favor"???. IT WAS YOUR FAULT IN THE FIRST PLACE! Still have sensitivity there and I got it done 6+ months ago, and the dentist assured me the sensitivity would go away. There is also one hygienist I can no longer take. Not going to name names, but my father ended up with an infection and having to have a root canal because of her, and my mother and I have bled and bled after our rushed appts. and have mouth pain for days afterwords. In addition, they cant seem to get my contact information together. They call my mother for my appointment and me for hers. Probably should find a better place to go.
